ABOUT STEVE

When Steve was young, his father played guitar to his family often. Steve was immediately attracted by string instruments. He was so awed by how individual strings can make such beautiful sound. Later in his elementary years, he was required to learn an orchestra string instrument (violin, viola, cello). He was in school orchestra for 5 years playing violin until he finally decided to quit. Couple months later, his older brother shows him a video of Jerry C's "Canon Rock", John Petrucci's "Glasgow Kiss", Joe Satriani's "Summer Song" and falls in love with electric guitar. He finally asks his parents for an electric guitar, but they tell him to first start with an acoustic guitar. They promise Steve that they will get him an electric guitar when he gets better. This was the beginning of his journey.

3 months into learning guitar, one of his friends show him a video of Sungha Jung on YouTube. The first guitar video that he watched was Sungha's arrangement of BIGBANG's "Haru Haru" which blew his mind. He gets inspired and tries to do a cover of the song.

After 3 months of practice, he finally understood fingerstyle guitar. Unlike others, Steve didn't learn beginner songs like "Twilight", "Blackbird", but instead started off with a very hard song. However, because of his history with violin, he was able to play guitar faster than other people (or at least thats what he thinks).

The next song he practiced was another arrangement of Sungha Jung, Brown Eyes's "Been Already A Year". Because he practiced more than 4 hours a day, he was able to learn that song within a month, and ever since, his learning speed got faster.

On September 25th, 2013, Steve decides to make a YouTube channel. He uploads his first video, Sungha's arrangement of BIGBANG's "Monster". He solely started to upload to make a list of songs he can play. After continous years, he currently has over 5,000 subscribers with over 480,000 views.

On May 2nd, 2015, Sungha Jung uploaded "2015.7 Sungha Jung Concert Event" video on his channel. The video was about him holding up a special guitar contest. The 2 winners got the opportunity to get to play with Sungha Jung at his Seoul concert. Steve sent his cover of Sungha Jung's "Flaming", which had over 40,000 views, and waited until the result.
